This training is an essential underpinning skill for all hospitality workers involved in the sale and service of gambling activities such as gaming machines, Keno, TAB, table games and lotteries carried out in a licensed premise. 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION IF YOU NEED TO RENEW YOUR RSA/RCG COMPETENCY CARD FROM LIQUOR AND GAMING

COVID-19 Update: If your card was due to expire after 1 March 2020 and you had not already renewed the card by 29 May 2020, the NSW Government has extended the expiry date to 30 June 2021. The existing card remains valid, despite the date on the physical card. The digital version of the card shows your correct expiry date. You do not need to renew the competency card until 90 days before the new expiry date. More COVID-19 information for the liquor and gaming industries is available.

To gain employment in the hospitality  industry, in the sale and service of alcohol, a mandatory course in the responsible service of alcohol is required.

This course explains the legal responsibilities relating to the sale, supply, and service of alcohol on licensed premises. Also covered in this course is how to assist customers to drink within appropriate limits, how to assess alcohol affected customers and identify those who need to be refused service, how to refuse service, implement harm minimisation strategies and serve alcohol responsibly.

This course is suitable for those wanting to gain employment in hospitality venues such as packaged liquor outlets, wineries, breweries, restaurants, hotels, and clubs.
