Course Description
Competence in this unit, does not in itself result in being issued with an interim certificate to gain your competency card required to work in the industry.
This training will cover the skills needed for all hospitality workers involved in the sale and service of gambling activities in a licenced premise such as gaming machines, Keno, TAB, table games and lotteries.
This course is suitable for those wanting to gain employment in job roles such as gaming attendant, table game attendant, croupier, and multi-skilled food and beverage attendant.

This course is suitable for those wanting to gain employment in job roles such as gaming attendant, table game attendant, croupier, and multi-skilled food and beverage attendant.
This course is designed:
- to develop skills to confidently and proactively respond to patrons showing warning signs of problematic gambling behaviour and provide the appropriate assistance.
- Clarify those roles, responsibilities, and expectation, as well as the laws relating to responsible gambling practices, which are designed to minimise gambling harm, in order to give the individual a clear idea of what is expected of the staff in the workplace.
Course Delivery
Part One During the Face-to-Face training
Students need to attend 7 hours of face-to-face delivery in the classroom, not including breaks. (Hours are regulated by Liquor & Gaming NSW).
There will be a 10 minute morning tea break ,a 30-minute meal break, and a 10 minute afternoon break, and all students are required to return on time from these breaks. Use of microwave and fridge available at the venue for Griffith courses. Tea and coffee only supplied.
Throughout the training students will complete the following:
- Office of Responsible Gambling Participant Workbook
- WRCC theory and practical assessment tasks
After successful completion of the WRCC theory and practical assessments, students are issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.
Online Assessment
Part 2 Online Assessment
After the face-to-face training and successful completion of the Office of Responsible Gambling Participant Workbook, students will receive a link via email or SMS with instructions from OneGov to complete the online assessment.
The assessment comprises of:
- 30 questions combination of multiple choice, True and False and scenarios-based questions
- Students will have their participant workbook to refer to during the assessment
- Students will have unlimited attempts to pass
Students will need access to a computer, laptop or mobile and internet to complete the online assessment in order to receive their interim certificate. It is recommended that students complete the online assessment as soon as possible.
Once you satisfactorily complete the online assessment Office of Liquor and Gaming will issue the interim certificate.
ATTENTION: The Office of Liquor and Gaming have temporarily suspended the online assessment for this course. Students will still be sent a link but they will not have to currently complete an online assessment to gain their interim certificate.
The RSA interim certificate allows participants to work for 90 days while they process and receive their NSW photo competency card. Students need to apply through Service NSW for a NSW competency card and should receive their card within 4 weeks via post. Digital version of competency card also available through the Service NSW App.

Licencing and Regulations
If you hold a Current NSW RSA/RCG Competency Card issued from August 2011, that is about to expire, this course is not suitable.
You need to complete an on-line refresher course and we advise you to contact Liquor and Gaming NSW on http://www.liquorandgaming.nsw.gov.aufor further instruction or use the link below for more information:

If you have a current RSA/RCG Competency Card but would prefer to do a full RSA/RCG course, instead of a refresher, WRCC can facilitate this if a student declaration is completed.

Entry Requirements
Must be a minimum of 17 years of age to enrol.
As of 1st January 2015, it’s a compulsory requirement that ALL students must provide a Unique Student Identifier number (USI) prior to commencement of any accredited course. Please click on the link www.usi.gov.au to create or retrieve your USI.
Course Requirements
Students are required to provide 100 points of identification on the day of the course (Originals only photocopies will not be accepted).
Students must provide their full name, including middle name, current address, phone number and email address, as per their identification, upon enrolment.One form of photo ID is essential.
Practical Experience and Industry Networking
Training is offered in a classroom with face-to-face delivery from an experienced industry expert.
