Provide Advanced Resuscitation HLTAID007

This course covers the skills and knowledge required to provide advanced resuscitation and use specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

The course is suitable for workers who may be required to use specialised equipment such as a bag-valve device or oxygen resuscitation system to provide resuscitation in a range of complex situations, including community and workplace settings.


Course Delivery
This course is delivered with mixed mode delivery including multiple choice questions, scenarios and simulated activities.

A pre-course workbook is to be completed prior to commencing the course and there is a half-day (4-6 hours) face to face session. All other resources will be provided on the day. After successful completion of the course examination, students are issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment within 7 days.

Licencing and Regulations
Advanced resuscitation accreditation lasts for a period of 1 year. However, specific licensing /regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.

Entry Requirements
It is a requirement of the advanced resuscitation course that participants COMPLETE A WORKBOOK PRIOR TO ATTENDING the face to face component of training.

Leeton office Monday – Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm
Griffith office Monday – Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm

If you are unable to attend our office during these hours, please notify the office and one can be mailed. Postage will be charged accordingly, and you will need to ensure that sufficient time is allowed for you to receive the workbook and then to complete it.

As of 1st January 2015, it’s a compulsory requirement that ALL students must provide a Unique Student Identifier number (USI) prior to commencement of any accredited course. Please click on the link: www.usi.gov.au to create or retrieve your USI.

Course Requirements
In order for participants to receive an accredited Advanced Resuscitation Certificate, they must be able to demonstrate and be assessed performing CPR for all of the following:

  • uninterrupted single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations) on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor
  • uninterrupted single rescuer CPR (5 cycles both compressions and ventilations) on an infant resuscitation manikin placed on a firm surface
  • bag-valve-mask ventilation and compression during a two-rescuer procedure on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor

Training is offered in a classroom with face to face delivery from an industry expert.
