ACE Tech Savvy Seniors Program - 2021

Free, fun digital skills sessions for seniors - ACE Tech Savvy Seniors is an initiative of the NSW Government Ageing Strategy and is funded through a partnership between the NSW Government and Telstra. 

Introduction

COURSE DESCRIPTION
The program delivers training to seniors who have had limited or no previous experience in using computers and for those who need additional help in developing their digital literacy skills. The program also aims to promote social connection with family and friends and engagement within the community.

COURSE DELIVERY
The course consists of 5 sessions to be held over a 5 week period. One (1) session will be held each week and will be a 2 hour duration.

You will learn about:

  • Cyber safety  
  • Using email
  • Using internet
  • On-line shopping 
  • Using Social Media

LICENCING AND REGULATIONS
N/A

ENTRY REQUIREMENT
Student Eligibility includes seniors (aged 60 and above) or Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander seniors (aged 50 and above) who:
  • have little or no experience in using technologies;
  •  need additional skills and confidence to use and adapt to new technologies; or
 
  • are from a social inclusion target group, including Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, migrants/refugees and people with a disability.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS
If you have one bring your own Smartphone, Tablet, Ipad or computer

STUDENT FEE
The program provides free training (refer to entry requirements) to assist older people to develop the confidence.
