Course Delivery
This course is generally delivered over 3.5 hours/week for 50 weeks and 10 Saturday workshops. Students will have set activities to complete between sessions. Mixed mode delivery which includes classroom and self-paced learning.
Licencing and Regulations
Nil
Entry Requirements
Students must 16 years of age or above. Students are required to undertake a language, literacy and numeracy assessment and face to face interview prior to enrolment. A current police check and working with children check is required prior to commencement of course.
Course Requirements
Students must have a genuine interest in fitness and health. Enjoy working with others and possibly looking for a career where you can positively affect others.
Local fitness industry employers will be utilised to provide students with a minimum of 30 hours of work placement. Work placement is a mandatory requirement of the qualification.
Student Fee
This course is subsidised by the NSW Government for eligible students
Student contributions are applicable and range from $1,450 to $1,750
Concession contribution to eligible students $240

SISFFIT014 Instruct exercise to older clients
SISXCCS001 Provide quality service
SISXFAC001 Maintain equipment for activities
SISXIND001 Work effectively in sports, fitness and recreation environments
7 Elective units:
SISFFIT006 Conduct fitness appraisals
SISFFIT007 Instruct group exercise sessions
SISFFIT01 Instruct approved community fitness programs
BSBRSK401 Identify risk and apply risk management processes
HLTWHS001 Participate in workplace health and safety
HLTAID003 Provide first aid
SISXCAI006 Facilitate groups
